Gallery Mindedahl

Step inside Galleri Mindedahl at Rønhaveplads in Sønderborg, where you can explore handmade arts and crafts and take a peek into the workshop where new pieces are created.

The gallery is housed in an old building with uneven floors and original period details. Its collection includes ceramics, paper art, tufted pieces, jewellery and hand-poured candles.

Arts and crafts in many forms

Around 80 per cent of the pieces are created by gallery owner and local artist Sys Mindedahl. The rest are made by a carefully selected group of artists she works with.

The collection includes ceramic bowls, cups, vases and sculptures, as well as papercuts and other works on paper, tufted wall hangings and textile art, handmade jewellery and hand-poured candles.

The pieces offer the chance to take home a locally made piece of art or craft as a reminder of your visit to Sønderborg.

Take a look inside the workshop

In the adjoining workshop, you can often meet Sys Mindedahl as she works on new pieces. You are welcome to watch her at work and ask questions about the creative process.

You can also gain an insight into how the ceramics are made, from casting in different moulds to the finished piece emerging from the kiln.

Have something made especially for you

Galleri Mindedahl also accepts bespoke commissions. Together with the artist, you can choose the shape, pattern, glaze and colours for your own ceramic piece.

This gives you the opportunity to take home something personal or have a unique gift made to your specifications.

A gallery in a historic building

Galleri Mindedahl is located in an old building at Rønhaveplads. Uneven floors and period details provide a characterful setting for the many works on display, while the bright interiors have a clean, Scandinavian feel.
