Bread rolls, layer cakes, biscuits and other sweet classics fill the table when Gram Castle hosts its traditional Sønderjylland coffee table in the historic stables.

Enjoy a generous selection of homemade cakes while discovering a tradition with deep roots in the history of Sønderjylland. The coffee table takes place on the first Sunday of every month from 2:00 PM.

A tradition dating back to the years after 1864

The tradition of the Sønderjylland coffee table dates back to the period after 1864, when parts of Sønderjylland came under Prussian and later German rule.

Community halls became important meeting places for the Danish population. Here, Danish language, songs and culture could continue to thrive, with coffee and cake becoming an integral part of these gatherings.

As the kitchens were small, guests brought their own cakes. Over time, this developed into lavish coffee tables featuring a wide variety of different cakes.

At Gram Castle, the tradition continues in the historic stables, where guests gather around the table to enjoy homemade cakes and coffee.

Prices and booking

Adults: DKK 259 plus booking fee.

Children aged 3–12: DKK 139 plus booking fee.

Children aged 0–3: Free.
